ROUND 1 2025 Synergy Surveys WA STATE ROAD RACING CHAMPIONSHIPS PREVIEW
Sunday the 30th March will see the running of Round 1 of 2025 Synergy Surveys WA State Road Racing Championships at CARCO.com.au Raceway. The Championship will be run over six rounds with four at CARCO.com.au Raceway and two rounds held at Collie Motorplex.
The Dynapumps Superbike Championship will see the top four competitors from the 2024 Championship face the starter again in 2025. Ben Stronach(Grundfos Yamaha R1), Sam Clarke(Pullella Earthworks Suzuki GSXR1000), Bronson Pickett(GoMoto Store Yamaha R1) and Adam Senior(Senior Engineering Yamaha R1) will all be keen to get the season underway. Warren French(Hughes Engineering Kawasaki ZX-10), Ross Hudson(IDB WA Yamaha R 1), Jack Langley(Northside Motorcycles Suzuki GSXR 1000) will all be keen to make their presence felt at the pointy end. Keep an eye on Jayden Martin(Aussie Moto Engineering Yamaha R1) who is having his first ride in the class before he heads to Europe. With many riders moving up from the 2024 Clubman class, the RS Contracting C-grade Superbike series will be fiercely contested.
The Cully’s Yamaha Supersport Championship will see any number of championship contenders greet the starter with the 2024 champion Callum O’Brien(Road 2 Race Kawasaki ZX-6) certain to be at the pointy end of the field. Calvin Moylan(Hydro Pneumatics Yamaha R6) will be certain to challenge him from the get go along with Adam Senior(Silkolene Honda CBR600RR), Jordan White(5 Star Yamaha R6), Craig Eldridge(Yamaha R6), Hayden Treversh(Turn 1 Motorsports Kawasaki ZX-6), Ryan Pietsch(GoMoto Store Yamaha R6), Leigh Boujos(Speedway Industries Yamaha R6) are all more than capable of causing a boil over and Lauchy Williams(Trakdayz Yamaha R6) will be having his first ride in the class and is a very competent rider and will, I am sure over the season, surprise a few people!! As with the Superbikes, the Northside Motorcycles C-grade Supersport series will see an influx of competitors moving up from Clubman this year.
The Campbell Road Automotive Production Championship has any number of potential champions in the field. Not in any particular order we have Lauchy Williams(Trakdayz Yamaha R3), Joel Jenzen(Liquid Army Yamaha R6), Kobi Treversh(Yamaha R3)who incidentally purchased the bike as a ‘Front End Write Off’ and has rebuilt it himself, Emily O’Brien(Registered Painters RPPL Kawasaki ZX-4), Dain Hutton(RS Decals Kawasaki Ninja 300), Darren Powell(Pro Ceilings KTM RC 390) who are all very capable riders and on their day could cause an upset. There will be a good mix of competitors between the Production and the On Track Motorcycles.
The Flashpixx.net Sidecar Championship has some very capable teams and to pick the Championship winner is a real tough one. Darren Nash/Cooper Mapstone(Mills Drainage Kawasaki ZX-10) are the defending champions and will be sure to make life tough at the front. Father son combo Rob & Hamish Taylor(Wormall Development Suzuki GSXR 1000) will be right up there as will Sam Watson/Andrew Lock(Watto’s Car Spa LCR Suzuki GSXR 1000) along with Graeme Evans/Robert Dillon(Rick Hanger Racing Kawasaki ZX-10). Tom Quaye and new passenger Angus Easton will be keen to test his new upgrade to the F1 class on a 1000cc Suzuki. And you can never discount Murray Stronach/Darryl McLeod(Turnapart Engineering Suzuki GSXR 1000) and brothers Morgan & Dion Marshall(PDA Caravan Repairs Kawasaki ZX-10). In the F2 class Steven McQueen/ Max Perrin(Coppin Road Customs Watson F2) will I think be the ones to beat, joined by Nichola Caddy and passenger David Gardiner.
The SBK Imports Clubman Series it is really too hard to pick but after careful deliberation I predict that the round winner will be either Craig Hutchinson(MINTOX Racing Ducati V2 Panigale) or Luke Hayward (Westwide Air Conditioning Services Yamaha R1). Best of the 600cc division from Thomas Kelleher(MINTOX Racing Yamaha R6) and Craig Eldridge(Yamaha R6).
The Ducati Perth Bears Series is a new venture for the Club in 2025 and whilst numbers are initially low for this first round they are hopeful numbers will increase as the season unfolds and will match the numbers in the Eastern States. My top three for this round in no particular order are Ross Hudson(Track Action Ducati 1199S Panigale), Craig Hutchinson(MINTOX Racing Ducati V2 Panigale) and Chris Cull(Minamax Services BMW S1000RR)
Practice/Qualifying starts at 9.00am with the first race of 18 events commencing approximately 11.00am
