ROUND 1 2025 SYNERGY SURVEYS WA STATE ROAD RACING CHAMPIONSHIP REPORT
The first round of the Round 1 2025 SYNERGY SURVEYS WA STATE ROAD RACING CHAMPIONSHIPS was run on Sunday 30th March at CARCO.com.au Raceway. There had been a little rain overnight but by the time Practice/Qualifying got underway the track was dry, and the action was hard and fast.
When the racing started it was the Dynapumps Superbikes that got the action underway. Sam Clarke(RS36 Suzuki GSXR-1000) took pole ahead of Adam Senior(Senior Engineering Yamaha R1) with the defending champion Ben Stronach(Grundfos Yamaha R1) rounding out the front row. In fourth place on the grid was 17-year-old Superbike debutant Jayden Martin(Aussie Moto Engineering Yamaha R1) having a one off ride before heading to Britain for the BSB Championship. Race 1 saw Clarke storm to the front, and he was never troubled of the 8 lap journey, second was Stronach with Martin taking third place in his first ever Superbike race. Race 2 and it was again Clarke taking the win, with Martin going one better than the first race and Stronach taking third. Race 3 was a repeat of the second with Martin grabbing the holeshot and leading for the majority of the first lap before Clarke got passed him.
Championship Points tally Clarke has the championship lead with 75 points, second is Martin on 58 points with Stronach 2 points behind on 56 points, Adam Senior sits in fourth place with 49 points and Ross Hudson(Track Action Yamaha R1) rounds out the top five on 45 points.
In the RS Contracting C Grade Superbike Series Ross Hudson leads the Series on 70 points, second is Jack Langley(Northside Motorcycles Suzuki GSXR1000) with 65 points and third is Reece Southern(All Aspects Landscaping Kawasaki ZX-10R) with 54 points. The Cully’s Yamaha Supersport defending champion Callum O’Brien(Road 2 Race Kawasaki ZX-6R) got his season off to the best possible start with three strong wins. Second was Jordan White(5 Star Yamaha R6) with Adam Senior(Senior Engineering Honda CBR600RR) third. The trio repeated the result in Race 2 and in the third race O’Brien took the win ahead of Calvin Moylan(Hydro-Pneumatic Yamaha R6) with White in third place.
Championship Points tally
O’Brien leads the title race with a perfect 75 points, second is White on 58 points with Senior third on 53 points. White leads the Northside Motorcycles C Grade Supersport Series with 70 points, second is Moylan on 58 points and third is Hayden Treversh(Turn 1 Motorsports Kawasaki ZX-6R) on 56 points.
The Flashpixx.net Sidecar Championship saw defending champions Darren Nash/Cooper Mapstone(Rick Hanger Racing Kawasaki ZX-10) never troubled taking three from three in the 9 bike field. Second were Graeme Evans/Robert Dillon(Rick Hanger Racing Kawasaki ZX-10) with three second places and Father son combo Robert and Hamish Taylor(Wormall Development Suzuki GSXR1000) took three third places. Sam Watson/ Andrew Lock had a day they would rather forget but they did come away with 14 points from Race 1and this could make the difference towards the end of the season. Tom Quaye stepping up from the F2 class and new passenger Kobi Treversh riding the new F1 powered sidecar also managed 14 points.
Championship Points Tally Nash & Mapstone have 75 points, Evans & Dillon have 60 points with the Taylor’s have 54 points. Best of the F2’s were Nichola Caddy/David Gardiner(Collie Motorplex Alert Driving Kawasaki ZX-6) with 41 points.
The Campbell Road Automotive & Motorcycles Production Championship Emily O’Brien(Registered Painters RPPL Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R) took two well ridden wins in the first two races and a close second in the final race for a points score of 70 points and the championship lead. Second is Lauchy Williams(Turn 1 Motorsports Yamaha R3) with two second paces and a win in the final race for 65 points. Joel Jenzen(Trakdayz Yamaha R3) took three third places for 54 points.
In the On Track Motorcycles Production Lights Series Rob Wheeler(Waroona Electrical Services Kawasaki Ninja 300) was the round winner with 75 points, with Keith Alexander(Errigal Construction Pty Ltd Kawasaki Ninja 300) second with 60 points. The SBK Imports Clubman Novice Series Ryan McGovern(Yamaha R6) made it a clean sweep of the three races and leads the Series with 75 points, Daniel Colgrove(Perth Commercial Epoxy Flooring Honda CBR 1000RR), Craig Hutchinson(MINTOX Racing Ducati V2) and Will Power(Yamaha R1) shared the minor placings. McGovern leads the 600 class with 75 points and Hutchinson leads the 1000 class with 65 points.
The Ducati Perth BEARS Series in its maiden start saw Ross Hudson(Ducati 1199S Panigale) win the round with 50 points. Second was Craig Hutchinson(MINTOX Racing Ducati Panigale V2) with 40 points and third was Chris Cull(BMW S1000RR) with 36 points. Look out for a few additional riders taking to the grid in the remaining 4 rounds. B.E.A.R.S – British, European, American Racing Series.
The 2025 Synergy Survey’s Series heads to Collie Motorplex for the Anzac April long weekend
on Sunday 27th.
