2025 Round 4 Race Report

SYNERGY SURVEYS STATE ROAD RACING CHAMPIONSHIPS ROUND 4

Sunday 7th September, Fathers Day saw the ‘Best in the West’ gather at CARCO.com.au Wanneroo Raceway for the 4th Round of the Synergy Surveys WA State Road Racing Championships. The weather forecast was for showers and possible storms and for once they got it right. There were some very heavy showers and a few dry moments to say nothing of it being very cold as well. Credit to all of the volunteers, flaggies and other officials for a job well done, it had to be pretty miserable out there on a day like that. Well done all!!!!

The first practice session was run in dry conditions, but the rain arrived for the second practice session and by the time racing commenced the CofC declared the day a “WET Race Day.” Which allowed the option for competitors to have their own choice of tyres.

The DYNAPUMPS SUPERBIKES opened the days racing and Sam Clarke (RS36 Suzuki GSXR1000) and Adam Senior (Senior Engineering Yamaha R1) set the pace at the front of the field, with a few ‘fairing banging passes and counter passes’ before Senior came away with an 11 second win. Clarke was second with Ross Hudson (Track Action Yamaha R1) third. The race was run as a ‘two part’ race following an incident involving Mitchell Carr (Campbell Road Automotive & Motorcycle Honda CBR1000RR-R SP) who crashed at Skyline suffering a broken arm.

In the second race it was again Senior and Clarke that set the pace with Hudson crashing out at the left hander early it looked as though the pair would have a repeat of Race 1 until the almost unthinkable happened – Clarke disappeared from the front of the pack allowing Paul Davies (Track Action BMW S1000RR) to move into second place with Ben Stronach (Grundfos Yamaha R1) filling the minor podium place. Clarke appeared at the back of the pack, minus a footpeg and a smashed bubble having high-sided out of the Basin. Then it was Senior’s turn he had an off at the Skyline and Davies took the win from
Stronach with Andrew Baker (MINTOX Racing BMW S1000RR) taking third place.

The final race saw Clarke take the win in the four lap sprint from Senior with Stronach rounding out the top three. Senior took the round win overall with 60 points, Clarke second with 59 points and Stronach third with 55 points.

Overall Championship status: Clarke 246 points, Stronach 189 points, Senior 184 Hudson fourth 146 points and Andrew Shields(Yamaha R1) rounds out the top five with 131 points.

In the RS Contracting C’Grade Superbike Series Paul Davies won the round with 67 points, Chris Cull(Oxford Project Services BMW S1000RR) was second with 58 points and Andrew Shields was third with 52 points. Shields leads the Series with 205 points, second is Cull on 183 points and third is Carr on 137 points.

In the Cully’s Yamaha Supersport Championship we saw three different race winners. In race 1 Jack Langley-Robins (Northside Motorcycles Suzuki GSXR600) took the win from Adam Senior(Senior Engineering Honda CBR600RR) with Leigh Boujos (Stable Watercarting Stable Hire Yamaha R6) taking third place. Championship leader Callum O’Brien (Premier Services Australia Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) crashed out of the race early but was unhurt. In race 2 Boujos took the win in the six lap race with Senior second and O’Brien took third place after starting from rear of grid. In the final 4 lap sprint it was Jordan White (Fivestar
Yamaha R6) that won the race ahead of Boujos and Langley-Robins. Boujos won the round with 63 points, White and Langley-Robins tied with 59 points and Senior was forth with 57 points.

Overall Supersport Championship status: O’Brien 234 points, White 217 points and Senior rounds out the
top three with 197 points.

In the Northside Motorcycles Supersport C Grade Series Hayden Treversh (Turn 1 Motorsports Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) took the round win with 70 points, second was Ryan Pietsch (GoMoto Store Yamaha R6) with 55 points with Lauchy Williams (Onyabike Adventures Yamaha R6) on 53 points. Treversh leads the Supersport C Series with 254 points, second is Pietsch with 193 points with Martin Calley(Campbell Road Automotive & Motorcycles Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) third with 171 points.

In the flashpixx.net Sidecar Championship Darren Nash/Cooper Mapstone (RHR Kawasaki ZX-10R) and Graeme Evans/Robert Dillon (RHR Kawasaki ZX-10) shared the wins with Nash/Mapstone grabbing the first two with Evans/Dillon winning the final race after a great manoeuvre thru the chicane. Father & Son Robert/Hamish Taylor (Turret Engineering LCR Suzuki 1000) took a second and two third places, Tom Quaye/Angus Easton(Suzuki 998) took a second and third places before a DNF in the final race. McQueen/Max Perrin(Coppin Road Customs Watson F2 600) took the wins in the F2 class. Nash/Mapstone took the round win with 70 points, second were Evans/Dillon with 57 points and third were the Taylor’s with 56 points.

Overall Championship status: Nash/Mapstone lead with 270 points, second are the Taylor’s with 197
points and third are Murray Stronach. Darryl McLeod on 170 points.

In the Campbell Road Automotive & Motorcycles Production Championship Lauchy Williams (Onyabike Adventures Yamaha R3) took three wins and 75 points and as a result he moves to just four points in arrears for the Championship lead. Tim Wallace (MINTOX Racing Kawasaki Ninja 400) took two second places and a fifth place and Tahlia Lang (Stable Watercarting &Stable Hire Kawasaki Ninja 300) Kobi Treversh (TeamTea Racing Yamaha R3) and Joel Jenzen (Liquid Army Yamaha R3) also got amongst the podium places. Williams, Wallace and Treversh were the top three for the round.

Overall Championship status: Jenzen leads on 194 points, second is Williams on 190 points with Treversh moving into third place with 142 points, a great effort as he missed round three.

The On Track Motorcycles Production Lights Series Tahlia Lang took the round win with 70 points, second was Dain Hutton (On Track Motorcycles Kawasaki Ninja 300) with 65 points and third was Rob Wheeler (Waroona Electrical Services Kawasaki Ninja 300). Wheeler leads the Series on 209 points, second is Keith Alexander (Errigal Construction Kawasaki Ninja 300) with 164 points and third is Lang on 135 points.

The Westside Air Conditioning Services – Star of Tomorrow saw Robin Huth (BMW S1000RR) take the win in race 1 with Luke Whillians (Marechal Electrical Australia Yamaha R1) winning the second and third races. Will Power(Track Action Yamaha R1), Josh King (JK Mechanical Services Yamaha R6) shared the minor placings.

Overall Series status: Whillians won the round with 68 points, Huth was second on 65 points, third was Power with 53 points and King was fourth on 51 points.

Overall 600 Series status: King leads the Clubman 600 Series with 68 points, Angelo Antoni(Campbell Road Automotive & Motorcycles Honda CBR600RR) is second with 60 points and third is Jarod Van Tonder (Aprilia RS 660) with 53 points.

In the ducatiperth.com.au BEAR’S Round 3 saw a great strong field with Leigh Boujos (Stable Watercarting Stable Hire BMW S1000RR) making a clean sweep of the class with 3 strong wins. Ross Hudson (Track Action Ducati 1199S Panigale) Paul Davies(Track Action BMW S1000RR), Andrew Baker (MINTOX Racing BMW S1000RR) and Chris Cull(Oxford Project Services BMW S1000RR) all had a share of the minor places over the three races. Martin Calley(Campbell Road Automotive & Motorcycle Triumph Daytona 675) won all three of the F2 class. Boujos won the round with 75 points, and Calley took the F2 class with &5 points.

Overall Series status: Ross Hudson leads the BEAR’S F1 with 176 points and Craig Hutchinson leads the
F2 with 115 points.

Round 5 of the Synergy Surveys State Road Racing Championships heads to Collie Motorplex on Sunday October 5th with the Final Championship round returning to Carco Wanneroo on November 8th and 9th.

This Round will also include the Final of the Australian Sidecar Championships with an expected strong number of sidecars heading over from the east coast.
