2026 Round 1 Race Report
ROUND 1 2026 SYNERGY SURVEYS WA STATE ROAD RACING CHAMPIONSHIPS
Sunday 12th April saw the running of Round 1 SYNERGY SURVEYS 2026 WA STATE
ROAD RACING CHAMPIONSHIP at the Collie Motorplex. The weather was perfect but
just a little on the warm side, and the riders enjoyed a new format of races for the day. There
were 6 classes on the program and with the exception of the Sidecars who had three 8 lap races
all the other classes had two races each with a sprint and an endurance style race. The
Superbikes had an 8 lap sprint with a 16 lap second race. The Combined 600/1000 Clubman had
an 8 lap sprint followed by a 16 lap race. The BEARS had a 6 lap race followed by a 12 lap race.
Supersport (incl NG Superstock) had an 8 and 16 lap races. And the Production class had a 6 lap
race followed by a 12 lap race. The Club was well pleased with the entries with good numbers
across all the classes with the highlight being 23 entries in the Production Championship. All of
the longer races carried double points.
The Dynapumps Superbike Championship got the day’s racing underway with the 8 lap sprint
race, and it was Sam Clarke(RS36 Rick Gill Motorcycles Suzuki GSX-R1000) that took the win
with a convincing 8 second gap to second placed Jayden Martin(Aussie Moto Engineering Yamaha
R1) with Ben Stronach(VRT Signs Yamaha R1) in third. Forth was Adam Senior(Senior
Engineering Yamaha R1) with Andrew Shields(Yamaha R1) rounding out the top five. Shields was
also the highest placed RS Contracting C- Grader. In the 16 lap race the top five finished in the
same order as in race 1 with Clarke a comfortable winner by 24seconds. Meeting points saw
Clarke win with 75 points, second was Martin on 60 points, third was Stronach on 54 points,
fourth was Senior on 51 points and rounding out the top five on the day was Shields on 48
points. In the Superbike C-Grade Series Shields took the win with a perfect 75 points, second
was Mitchell Carr(Waroona Electrical Services Honda CBR1000RR-R SP) with 60 points, third
was MCRC Club Captain Rob Wheeler(Waroona Electrical Services Honda CBR 1000RR) with
54 points, fourth was Paul Davies(Motorcycle Assist BMW S1000RR) on 50 points and rounding
out the top five Chris Cull(BMW S1000RR)on 45 points.
In the combined 1000/600 Clubman races which are sponsored by Westwide Air Conditioning
Services & SBK Imports respectively. Martin Monahan(Lofty’s Race Paint BMW S1000RR)
dominated the day’s proceedings with a strong all the way win by 15seconds in the 8 lap race.
Second was William Power(Track Action Yamaha R1) with Keiran Webb(Yamaha R6) in third
place, fourth was Sean Stewart(Honda CBR600RR) with Kraig Healey(Global Motorcycle Skills
Suzuki GSX-R600) taking fifth place. In the 16 lap second race the top three remained in the same
order with Monahan winning by 27seconds, Angelo Antoni(Campbell Road Automotive &M/C
Honda CBR600RR) taking fourth place, with Healey again rounding out the top five. Meeting
points saw Monahan take the win with a perfect 75 points with Power on 60 points. All the
remaining bikes were 600cc with Webb taking the win with 75 points, second was Antoni with 57
points, third was Healey on 54 points tied with Stewart and Glen Johnson(ODS Yamaha R6)
rounding out the top five with 46 points.
In the Ducati Perth BEARS Series Martin Monahan(OCC Construction BMW S1000RR) took
the win in race 1 over 6 laps. Second was Paul Davies(Motorcycle Assist BMW S 1000RR) with
Craig Hutchinson(MINTOX Racing Ducati Panigale V2) third. Fourth was Julian Carlsson(Aprilia
RSV4 RF V-4) with Dain Hutton(Triumph Street Triple 675) was fifth. In the 12 lap second race
the top three from race 1 repeated the effort with Jared van Tonder(Aprilia RS 660) fourth and
Hutton again in fifth place. In the Formula 1 class Monahan took the round win with 75 points,
second was Davies with 60 points and Julian Carlsson was third with 18 points. In the Formula 2
Hutchinson was the round winner with 75 points, second was Hutton with 56 points and third
was Van Tonder with 40 points.
In the Sidecar Championship Darren Nash/Cooper Mapstone(RHR Racing Kawasaki1000) got
their 2026 season off to the best possible start with three wins in the three races. Second in Race
1 were the father/son Robert & Hamish Taylor(Turret Engineering LCR Suzuki 1000) with
Morgan Marshall/Matt McLeish(City Panelbeaters Kawasaki ZX-10R) in third place. Fourth were
Tom Quaye/David Mercer(Meon Valley Racing MRE Suzuki GSX-R998) and Murray
Stronach/Darryl McLeod(Turnapart Engineering Suzuki GSX-R1000) took fifth place. Race 2 saw
Nash/Mapstone win again with Tom Quaye/David Mercer taking second and Marshall/McLeish in
third place. Fourth were the Taylor’s with Stronach/McLeod again fifth. Race 3 and once again
Nash/Mapstone took the chequered from Quaye/Mercer and the Taylor’s in third.
Marshall/Mcleish were fourth with Nicola Caddy/David Gardiner(Collie Motorplex-Alert Driving
Kawasaki ZX-600R) taking fifth place. Nash/Mapstone took the round win with 75 points, second
were Quaye/Mercer with 57 points, third were Robert and Hamish Taylor with 55 points fourth
were Marshall/McLeish with 53points with Caddy/Gardiner in fifth place with 44 points.
The Cully’s Motorcycle Centre Supersport Championship saw Lauchy Williams(Primero Yamaha
R6) and Jordan White(Trakdayz Yamaha R6) share the wins over the two races. White won the 8
lap race ahead of Williams by just .3second with Ross Hudson(Ma17tin Coaching Yamaha R6)
third, fourth was Adam Senior(Senior Engineering Yamaha R9) and Ryan Pietsch(Go Moto Store
Yamaha R6) rounding out the top five. In the Northside Motorcycles C-Grade Supersport Series
it was Dan Hughes(Marc Cartier Race Tyres & Service 1998 Suzuki GSX-R 750) who was first CGrader past the chequered. In the 16 lap race the top six riders from Race 1 featured again the
only difference being Williams and White swapped places. The Supersport round winner was
Williams with 70 points, second was White with 65 points, third was Hudson with 54 points,
fourth was Pietsch on 51 points and fifth was Ryan McGovern(Yamaha R6) with 46 points. The CGrade Series round winner was Harley Wyatt(M&S O’Brien Smash Repairs Honda CBR 600RR)
with 67 points, second was Joel Calley(Honda CBR 600RR) with 65 points, third was Leslie
McGrath(Quantum Electrical & Tech Solutions Yamaha R6) with 56 points. In the Registered
Painters Perth WA Next Gen SuperStock class Adam Senior took the round win with 75
points, second was Hughes with 60 points and third was Hutchinson with 54 points.
The MA17TIN COACHING Production Championship saw two different winners with Rossi
McAdam(Megacycle Yamaha R3) taking the win in race 1 by the narrowest of margins – just
.12second from Lauchy Williams(Primero Yamaha R3) with Ashton Reid(Safe Technique M/C
Training Yamaha R3) third, fourth was Leo Darling(Pro West Precision Engineering Yamaha R3)
with Abbey Cameron(Mototech Yamaha R3) rounding out the top five. The best of the Premier
Services Australia Production Lights Series was Harley Wyatt(Bax Kawasaki Ninja 300). In Race
2 which was declared 2 laps early due to a Red Flag Incident saw Lauchy Williams take the win
from Rossi McAdam with Ashton Reid third, fourth was Abbey Cameron and Leo Darling
rounded out the top five. Harley Wyatt was again the best of the Production Lights. The round
winner was Williams with 70 points, second was McAdam with 65 points, third was Reid with 54
points, fourth was Cameron on 50 points with Darling rounding out the top five with 49 points. In
the Production Lights Harley Wyatt took the round win with 75 points, second was Rob
Wheeler(Waroona Electrical Services Kawasaki Ninja 300) with 60 points, thirs was Ashley
Thorman(Safe Technique M/C Training Kawasaki Ninja 300) on 54 points, fourth was Lexie
McAdam(Kawasaki Ninja 300) on 51 points with Dain Hutton(Kawasaki Ninja 300) rounding out
the top five with 48 points.
