Firstly I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you all for the time you volunteer to our Club in your capacity as "Flag Marshals". It is very much appreciated, and we are really impressed with the group that we have had for this season.

Unfortunately however our numbers were down for the 2003 season, so if you have any friends that are interested in assisting in 2004, please do bring them along with you to our first race day in 2004.

To encourage them to come along you can let them know that they will receive:

• Free entry

• The best/closest view of the racing

• Free lunch and refreshments

• Rotational marshaling(when numbers allow)

• Free flaggies raffle entry

• Free drink end of day at social club bar

I’m sure that most of you will have noticed the changes that have come into effect this season: the most prominent of these being the introduction of our "Communications Marshal" – Maura Hannon. The purpose of the "Communications Marshal" is to lighten the workload of myself as Chief Flag Marshal and Peter Smith as Clerk of Course. Her main duty is to handle all radio communication between flag marshals and race control; all relevant information is recorded.
